International Coaching Week in Panama
The ICF Panama Chapter carried out a number of activities during International Coaching Week (ICW) 2017. Activities were open to all in the country, including coaches, executives and the general public interested in learning about professional coaching.
We kicked off on May 15 with an eight-hour workshop “Leading Your Emotions through the Body,” which was delivered by Ana Andrea Labrador, with the aim of creating a space of development for the 15 chapter members in attendance.
We continued on May 16 with the main event of the week “The Coaching Fair,” an event that was sponsored by private companies, consulting firms, coach training schools, coaching tool providers and others. The format of the event allowed sponsors to have a booth at the entrance of the hall to present to the audience their services and products related to coaching. The Chapter also conducted outreach media such as radio, television and press before, during and after the event. Presentations covered various topics such as “Growth and Projection of Professional Coaching” by Carolina Stilhano, ICF member experience ambassador for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as mindfulness at work, alignment and execution, leadership transition, coaching service organizations, personal branding, a look at the depths of being and a closing activity of body coaching with a room filled with movement and emotions. The format allowed participants to choose which session they attended, based on the timing and topics of interest.
We also had an exhibition space that we named “Gallery Coaches,” where chapter members met with attendees to provide a brief overview and experience of coaching.
For 2018, we are replicating this format on a larger scale, continuing our commitment to educate the Panamanian community about the practice of professional coaching and its fields of action. We want to make it a striking event and position it as we have been doing in recent years, both to collect revenue and to achieve the same audience and increased interest in learning about the benefits of professional coaching.
