Coaching education providers can now apply for advanced accreditations that strengthen quality, clarity, and confidence across the profession.
Lexington, KY, USA — The International Coaching Federation (ICF) today announced that applications are now open for the Advanced Accreditation in Mentor Coaching and the Advanced Accreditation in Coaching Supervision. These advanced accreditations are a major step in setting a clear, global standard for how these critical disciplines are taught.
Mentor coaching and coaching supervision shape how coaches grow, reflect, and refine their practice. Yet across the profession, how these disciplines are taught has often varied, which has led to inconsistent expectations for learners and uneven standards in the marketplace.
With these new advanced accreditations, ICF is bringing clarity where it matters most.
“These accreditations define what high-quality education in mentor coaching and coaching supervision looks like,” said Rockelle Ward, ICF Coaching Education’s director of global accreditation. “They reflect our commitment to coaching excellence and value by setting the standard for world-class coaching and ensuring learners, educators, and stakeholders can trust the quality behind it.”
Clear Standards, Stronger Programs, Greater Confidence
The Advanced Accreditation in Mentor Coaching and Advanced Accreditation in Coaching Supervision provide coaching education institutions with a clear framework to design, deliver, and differentiate high-quality programs. For providers, this means:
- Aligning programs with ICF competencies and global standards.
- Preparing learners for specialized professional pathways.
- Demonstrating the rigor and credibility of their education.
- Standing out in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
For learners, it means greater confidence in the education they choose and clearer pathways toward advanced specializations.
Connecting Education to the Future of Coaching
These accreditations are part of a broader evolution in coach development. As ICF introduces the Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) and Coaching Supervisor Specialization (CSS), these advanced accreditations ensure that education providers are ready to support coaches with the depth, structure, and guidance needed to pursue these new specializations.
Strengthening the Profession, Together
Coaching continues to evolve, and so must the systems that support it. By establishing clear standards for mentor coaching and coaching supervision education, ICF is strengthening the foundation of the profession.
For educators, this is an opportunity to lead.
For learners, it creates clarity and direction.
For the profession, it builds greater trust and consistency worldwide.
