Curriculum & Learning Design
I. Program Structure Overview
Total Student Contact Hours: 60+ Hours
- 80% Coaching Supervision Specific Education (CC) (minimum of 48 hours)
- 20% Resource Development (RD)
- 50% Synchronous / 50% Asynchronous
Required Components
- 5 Observed Coaching Supervision Sessions
- Written feedback required for at least 3
- Primary focus: Applied demonstration and structured feedback on a participant’s use of ICF Coaching Supervision competencies in practice.
- 5 Supervision Sessions
- 2 Coaching Supervision Hours as Supervisee
- 3 Supervision on Supervision Sessions
- Primary focus: Reflective practice and development of the coaching supervisor
Final Assignment
- Reflective portfolio / Case analysis / Learning journal / Oral review

Faculty Requirements
All faculty delivering coaching supervision-specific education must hold an active PCC or MCC credential (or similar coaching supervision credential from another recognized professional coaching body) and meet at least one of the following criteria:
Option 1: Professional Coaching Supervision Recognition
- Hold an active coaching supervision certification, credential, accreditation, or similar recognition issued by a recognized coaching or coaching supervision professional body.
Option 2: Coaching Supervision Education
- Have completed a coaching supervision education program of at least 60 hours.
Option 3: ICF Coach Supervisor Specialization
- Hold the Coach Supervisor Specialization (CSS).
Assessment & Evaluation
Students demonstrate competency through successful completion of program requirements, including:
- Instructional hours.
- Coaching supervision.
- Observed coaching.
- A final assignment.
How to Apply for the Advanced Accreditation in Coaching Supervision
Applying for the Advanced Accreditation in Coaching Supervision involves one streamlined application through the ICF Accreditation Portal.
You will be asked to provide the following:
- General program information (i.e., languages, location, description, website, etc.).
- Curriculum outline.
- Observed coaching sessions with written feedback.
- Coaching supervision sessions with written feedback.
- Final assignment samples.
Application Fee: $1,500 USD.
Review Timeline
Most applications are reviewed within 8–12 weeks, although the review timeline may take slightly longer in January and July.
Throughout the review process, ICF accreditation staff may contact you for clarification or updates. This email communication will come from icfheadquarters@coachingeducation.org.
Renewal and Ongoing Compliance
This advanced accreditation is valid for three years. To maintain accreditation status, you must continue meeting ICF standards and renewal requirements. Organizations found out of compliance with ICF standards, policies, or ethics requirements may lose accreditation status.
Renewal Application Fee: $1,500 USD every three years.
Refund Policy: ICF accreditation applications and accreditation renewal applications are non-refundable once submitted and include not only the review of all submitted materials but also any benefits included in the ICF accreditation cycle if accreditation is awarded.
