Dorothy Matheka’s Coaching Story

Dorothy Matheka felt stuck. She couldn’t pinpoint when or why it happened, but somewhere along the way she had forgotten who she was and what she wanted out of life.

It was at this point that Dorothy began working with Decimar Ogutu, ACC. Decimar is a life, executive, and career coach based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Partnering with Decimar enabled Dorothy to reconnect with her creativity and her passion for interior design. She began by making updates to her own home, gaining confidence along the way. After seeing her work, Dorothy’s family members began reaching out to her for help with their own interior design projects.

Working with a coach also reminded Dorothy of her top priority: her family. She acknowledged that baggage she had been carrying around for years was hurting her and her family. Through her partnership with Decimar, she was able to clarify her values and goals and find the courage to let that baggage go and make lasting positive changes in her life.
