Course Details
Strong emotions can arise in coaching and coaching supervision as clients, coaches and supervisees navigate complex situations, ethical tensions, uncertainty, conflict, loss and change. Remaining present in these moments requires more than applying coaching models and techniques. It also requires coaches and coaching supervisors to develop the awareness and internal capacity to remain grounded while supporting reflection and learning.
Join the ICF Coaching Supervision Community of Practice and Leanne Lowish for an experiential webinar exploring how your internal state can influence the coaching or supervision relationship. Through guided reflection, embodied exercises, paired conversations and group dialogue, you’ll examine how awareness, nervous system regulation and relational presence can support you when strong feelings arise.
You’ll practice approaches for regulating under pressure and explore how parallel process can influence coaching and supervision. The session will also examine how a grounded presence can create conditions that support deeper reflection, ethical awareness and learning while helping clients and supervisees remain connected to their own agency.
Throughout the session, you’ll have opportunities to consider how these practices apply to your own work and professional development. You’ll leave with practical approaches you can use before, during and after coaching and supervision sessions, along with a greater understanding of how coaching supervision can support reflective capacity, resilience and sustainable professional practice.
Whether you are a coach, coaching supervisor, coach educator, mentor coach or leader using coaching skills, this session offers an opportunity to strengthen how you respond when emotions become challenging and develop practices that support greater awareness and presence.
