Join the ICF Life Vision and Enhancement Coaching Community of Practice and Billie Frances for “Coaching With Presence,” a webinar exploring the foundational role of presence in effective coaching.
Coaching involves more than applying models, frameworks, and techniques. The coach’s ability to remain aware, attentive, and responsive can influence the quality of the coaching relationship and the space available for client insight and growth. In this session, you’ll examine what it means to “be” with a client rather than simply “do” coaching.
Through conceptual framing, reflection, and practical examples, you’ll explore how mindful awareness, relational attunement, and the coach’s internal state can influence trust, listening, and client-centered partnership. You’ll also consider how self-awareness can help coaches recognize distraction or reactivity and return their attention to the client and the coaching conversation.
The session connects these foundational being skills with the ICF Core Competencies, including Embodies a Coaching Mindset, Cultivates Trust and Safety, Maintains Presence, and Listens Actively. You’ll explore how greater awareness of your internal state can support your ability to remain curious, work with uncertainty, listen deeply, and respond to what emerges in the moment.
You’ll also consider the vulnerability that can accompany not knowing what comes next. Rather than rushing toward an answer or solution, coaches can create space for clients to generate their own insights and actions. This approach supports client agency while encouraging a more intentional and responsive coaching partnership.
Whether you are developing your coaching practice or looking to deepen an established one, this webinar offers an opportunity to reflect on how you show up in coaching conversations. You’ll leave with practical approaches for cultivating presence and greater awareness that you can apply in your work with clients.
