International Coaching Federation Recognized with Four 2023 Power of Associations Silver Awards

LEXINGTON, KY — The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is pleased to announce it has been recognized with four 2023 Power of Associations Silver Awards. The awards, presented by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), honor associations that have demonstrated excellence in association management.

“I am very proud of the four awards that ICF received this year from ASAE,” said Magdalena Nowicka Mook, ICF CEO. “They reflect such a diverse scope of our activities and point to the very fact that as One ICF, we have an impact that travels far and deep.”

ICF received awards for the following initiatives:

Global Cultural Competency in Coaching Workshop Series

Cultural competency and communication are foundational for all aspects of diversity and inclusion initiatives and coaching. To reach the entire ICF ecosystem, the DEIB department developed content that staff and volunteer facilitators then conducted trainings with for non-chapter affiliated members and trained chapter leaders, who in turn trained their chapters.

ICF Coaching Education Global Knowledge Community

In 2020, the ICF Coaching Education Board of Directors and staff identified the need for increased support and professional development for coach educators and trainers. To address this need, ICF Coaching Education launched the Global Knowledge Community — a vibrant, virtual venue that allows coaching education providers and educators to collaborate globally. This virtual engagement platform provides a place for coach educators and trainers to build community, engage with one another, and foster growth and collaboration.

ICF Imagine 2022: The Global Conference on Coaching Education and Training

As a growing field, it is vital for coach educators to continue their development to provide the highest quality education to the future coaches of the world. In response to this call to action, ICF Coaching Education developed the first-ever ICF Imagine conference, a global conference on coaching education and training, held virtually on October 25-27, 2022. ICF Imagine 2022 saw nearly 300 participants from more than 50 countries. The program featured three days of virtual content, three keynote speakers, three roundtable discussions, 20 breakout sessions, and networking via a virtual platform.

2021-2022 Coaching for Social Impact Project

In 2021, the ICF Foundation, with collaborator Many Hopes, began an initiative to offer pro bono professional coaching services to leadership teams of organizations in Northern Ireland, Bolivia, Ghana, Guatemala, Kenya, Malawi, and Peru. Together, they made it possible for these organizations to rescue, equip, and educate more than 900 children over the 12-month period. Every team achieved or exceeded its goals due to their improved leadership effectiveness, and all leaders and team members surveyed agreed that coaching helped to accelerate their strategic plans and amplify their missions.

“Congratulations to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Foundation for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”
