ICF has established four DEIB Meaningful focus areas and goals for FY 2027. These areas were strategically developed to ensure we create an inclusive and equitable coaching community across two dimensions: ICF operations and stakeholders.
1. Expand global representation for underrepresented communities to ensure inclusion and belonging throughout our ecosystem.
- Increase awareness of DEIB initiatives, programming, and training throughout the whole ecosystem.
- Sponsor Member Resource Groups (MRGs) for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), People with Disabilities, International Military Veterans, Kaleidoscope, and Young Professionals (Under 40).
- Continue to increase the number of chapters with DEIB board members.
- Continue to increase the number of partners who help underrepresented populations.
2. Invest in education to increase diversity intelligence and provide professional development opportunities for leaders, volunteers, staff, ICF Members, and other stakeholders.
- Increase membership participation in the monthly Global Cultural Competency, Advanced Cultural Competency, and Cultural Humility courses.
- Increase membership participation in the quarterly Conscientious Inclusion Coaching, Generations in Practice, and Allyship courses.
- Increase the participation in the DEIB Course Series for Chapter Leaders and Coach Educators.
3. Create an accessible environment for all stakeholders.
- Increase the awareness and necessity of accessibility for all stakeholders.
- Continue partnering with ICF Credentials and Standards on the veterans project.
- Host the Voices of Belonging Roundtable for the public to explore how belonging can exist within the ecosystem.
4. Establish policies that reinforce equity throughout the coaching profession and ICF community.
- Update and launch DEIB-related policies by the end of FY27.
- Continue to partner to reduce Ethics DEIB-related emails and formal complaints by the end of FY27.
- Launch a hotline for DEIB-related issues.
