How do I document giving or receiving Coach Supervision in my renewal application?

To claim Coaching Supervision hours toward the Continuing Coach Education (CCE) requirements for credential renewal, you will provide the name of the Coach Supervisor/Supervisee, their email address, the total number of hours of supervision, and the start and end date of the supervision. 

How do I document giving or receiving Mentor Coaching in my renewal application?

In the online renewal application, you will be asked to list the name of the Mentor Coach/Mentee, their email address, their ICF Credential, the start and end date of the mentoring relationship, and the number of hours spent mentoring and if any of those hours were in group

How do I document self-study hours in my renewal application?

Self-study hours can be recorded onto a word document. You will need to provide what kind of training or self-study you did, when you did it, and how many hours you are claiming for the self-study. For each hour of study, you can claim 1 CCE unit as Resource Development. 

How do I count non-ICF accredited education towards Core hours?

You will be required to complete a Verification of Training form as part of your renewal application which will require submitting the curriculum of the non-accredited training. ICF Coaching Education staff will review the curriculum to determine if it is eligible for core hours. 

I participated in a number of ICF Chapter Events. Why aren’t they showing in my Credential renewal application?

Chapter Events are individual events sponsored by the Chapters.  They are required to provide a certificate of completion for you to upload with your credential renewal application. 

I completed courses in the ICF Learning portal.  Why aren’t they showing in my Credential renewal application?

Currently, the ICF Learning Portal is not connected with the credentialing system.  Therefore, you are required to download your transcript from the Learning Portal and upload it to your application.   Please visit the Learning Portal’s FAQ page for the steps to download your transcript.  

I completed the ICF Ethics course to meet the Ethics requirements for renewing my credential. How can I access my certificate / credits to upload to my renewal application?

The ICF Ethic course is offered through the ICF Learning Portal.  The ICF Learning Portal is not connected with the credentialing system.  Therefore, you are required to download your transcript from the Learning Portal and upload it to your renewal application to document your completion of the Ethics course.   Please visit the Learning Portal’s FAQ …read more.

Can Coaching Supervision take the place of Mentor Coaching for an ACC Credential renewal?

Not at this time. Given Coaching Supervision’s broader focus to include supporting the coach and sharing wisdom as compared to Mentor Coaching’s focus on a coach’s skill in the ICF Core Competencies, only Mentor Coaching is accepted to meet the Mentor Coaching requirements for an ICF Credential and its renewal. 

Can two ACCs mentor each other for credential renewal?

Yes, you can serve as another ACC’s mentor, and they in turn can mentor you. Both ACCs need to have renewed their credential at least one time for this exchange to be eligible. 

Do I have to complete an additional 10 hours of Mentor Coaching each time I renew my ACC Credential?

Yes.  ACC Credentialed coaches are required to complete an additional 10 hours of Mentor Coaching following the initial award of their credential or since their last credential renewal. This requirement is intended to promote continued growth as a coach and help move you to the next credential level.
