Empowering Leaders and the Future Workforce

The 2022 SXSW Conference & Festival offers a potential opportunity for ICF to be in front of a global community that’s optimistic, purpose-driven and forward-thinking. ICF has proposed two contributions to the programming – one panel session and one workshop.

For these sessions with ICF CEO Magdalena Nowicka Mook to make it onto the docket at SXSW 2022, we need the support of the global ICF community! Through community voting, you have the chance to shape the content for this year’s conference.

How to Vote for ICF Sessions

Presentations for SXSW are determined through a three-phase voting process.

  • 30% Community Vote. This is the public’s opportunity to express what they are most interested in seeing at the event.
  • 40% SXSW Advisory Board. A group of 200+ industry experts from around the world.
  • 30% SXSW Staff. Focuses on assessing the presentations as selected in voting so far to fill gaps in relevant subject matter and strike a balance between new and veteran speakers.

The Community Vote is where we need you! Help ICF showcase coaching’s role in the future of work at the global festival celebrating the convergence of tech, film, music, education and culture.  Your vote is crucial to help us empower the next generation of leaders at SXSW.

Here’s What To Do

  1. Go to the SXSW website to create your PanelPicker account.
  2. Find the ICF sessions in the Culture Track (and read more about each session below).
  3. Cast your vote for both ICF sessions! You may cast one vote for as many presentations as you wish.
  4. Community voting ends August 26, 2021. “Vote Up” now!

About the Proposed ICF Sessions

  • The Future of Leadership

With ICF CEO Magdalena Nowicka Mook

Global society has been impacted by significant change in the past year. While the pandemic may be getting under control, this does not mean further changes will be avoided. We are experiencing an unprecedented period of upheaval. And many people have no idea how to process it all. This is especially the case for organizational and business leaders who may never have had the need or reason to alter their approach to management, motivation or morale building. This session will delve into the evolution of leadership and ways a “Coach Approach” is becoming increasingly central to effective team engagement. The session will offer data, trends and transformative case studies.

  • Building Skills to Empower the Future's Workforce

With ICF CEO Magdalena Nowicka Mook

The workplace is evolving and so are best practices for leadership. In this interactive workshop, an expert in leadership and coaching will explore why and how the crucial skills necessary for effective leadership are changing and walk attendees through exercises to cultivate the coaching skills needed to inspire and engage team members across complicated, dynamic work environments. The workshop will address the soft skills necessary to motivate and empower employees as they make a permanent shift to remote or hybrid work and adapt to new technologies, as well as the “trickle down” positive impacts of a coaching culture when implemented into the workplace.
