Karen Bernstein, ACC, CAE, MSW, is an experienced executive with extensive background in professional development, governance, fundraising, and coaching. As ICF’s vice president of learning and development, Karen oversees strategy, curation, and delivery of educational content and leadership development across the organization.
Prior to ICF, Karen was associate director for leadership and governance learning at the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), where she designed and implemented programming for C-suite association executives. Previous positions include director of development and assistant camp director at Capital Camps and Retreat Center, executive director of the Baltimore Institute for Jewish Communal Service, and director of human resources for the Jewish Federations of Greater Washington and Milwaukee.
Karen has earned degrees from the University of Southern California, Hebrew Union College (including an honorary doctorate), and University of California Irvine. She has a certificate in leadership and performance coaching from Brown University.
