Course Details:
This on-demand webinar, originally presented to the ICF Coaching Science Community of Practice, will introduce you to new research on self-deception in coaches.
The presenter will share the logic of the research design, the evolution of findings, and the results of the study according to the final conceptual model of self-deception in coaches.
The model will be useful in considering not only the reasons for self-deception, but also some strategies for minimizing self-deception by coaches themselves and opportunities for support by supervisors in this process.
Wider implications of the topic will be discussed in the context of seeing the self of the coach as a main instrument of coaching and with consideration of recent changes in the societies and professional world that coaches serve.
