Course Details:
Join us for an exploration presentation with Katrina Sheena Smyth, ACC, and Siobhan Doherty on March 19, 2026, from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. (ET NY), where you will go From Story to Self: Integrating Artistic Process and Mindful Coaching. How might story, poetry, and meditation expand what is possible in a coaching conversation? This experiential session invites coaches into a deeper exploration of how creative and contemplative practices can be integrated into coaching to strengthen presence, listening, and ethical inquiry. Drawing on research into the creative process and mindfulness, participants will explore how symbolism, metaphor, and intentional silence support trust, deepen awareness, and open space for insight beyond habitual thinking.
Designed for professional coaches, coach educators, and practitioners in adjacent helping professions, this session is especially valuable for those who want to bring greater depth and artistry into their work while remaining firmly grounded in coaching competencies and ethical boundaries. The emphasis is not on therapy or self-expression for its own sake, but on skillful, client-centered application that leads to clarity and intentional action.
Through reflective dialogue and practical exploration, attendees will learn how to apply story, poetry, and meditation as structured coaching interventions; use metaphor and silence to enhance active listening and inquiry; maintain clear ethical boundaries when working with evocative material; and support clients in translating insight into meaningful, self-designed action.
Participants will leave with practical approaches they can immediately integrate into their coaching conversations, along with a renewed sense of presence, confidence, and creativity in how they partner with clients to design inspired, grounded change.

What Comes After Growth Mindset
How we show up and interact, reveals what we value, what we fear, how we think and what we believe. In this session we begin by noticing. Notice how we tend to show up in conversation. We will explore four types of mindsets that influence how we engage in conversation. The characteristics produce an energetic signature. Our mindset influences tone, timing, and ultimately then, how others perceive our trustworthiness. By applying several of the ICF sub-competencies, learn how to notice when a judgement arises and pause to allow curiosity to bubble up so we can generate new awareness that is the seed of evolution. The session offers an opportunity to match mindset traits with a specific business context, key relationship(s), and professional experience, applied first to self and second to your client context.

She will demonstrate how coaches can cultivate all of these perspectives as coaching intelligence aligned with ICF competencies, including using an AI system she designed called Multi-Perspective AI.
