ICF maintains high standards for professional coaches worldwide, and requires that ICF Credentials be renewed every three years. To maintain your credentialed status, you must submit your renewal by your its renewal date.
As you review the information below, please ensure that you click on the correct tab for your credential. The text on the tab should turn from teal to gold when selected.
*If your Mentor Coach holds an ACC Credential, they are required to have renewed their ACC at least once.
TIP: Up to 10 hours of Mentor Coaching (giving or receiving) AND up to 10 hours of Coaching Supervision (giving or receiving) may be used towards the required 40 CCEs for renewal and count as Core Competency credits.

The estimated timeline for review of renewal applications is 6-8 weeks.
If you were unable to submit your credential renewal application by December 31, 2021, ICF does provide a 60-day grace period. This 60-day grace period will extend through the final day of February and your credential will remain active during this time.
However, if you are unable to submit your credential renewal application by March 1st your credential will lapse and you will not hold an active credential. You will still have until December 31, 2022, to renew your credential but you will have to provide additional CCE’s based on the month that you submit your application in. If your ICF Credential expired on or before December 31, 2020, it is now fully expired. In order to hold an ICF Credential, you will be required to submit a new credential application rather than completing a credential renewal application.

It is not possible to upgrade to a higher credential via the credential renewal application. If you wish to pursue a higher credential, you must complete an initial application for that credential.
