A Fresh Departure Towards a Partnership of Hope

An Opportunity to Create Momentum

For the ICF Delhi NCR Chapter, International Coaching Week (ICW) is an amazing annual opportunity to make a fresh departure from the regular and create greater impetus to demystifying coaching and what it brings to the table for people from all walks of life.

Our constant endeavor is to create an inclusive coaching community, enabling transformation of stakeholders through awareness and action. We continued to realize this goal via our 2017 ICW activities. The International Coaching Week activities organized and executed by the ICF Delhi NCR Chapter had something for everyone: inspiration, newer perspectives, learning and experience-sharing.

Spirit of International Coaching Week

We based our ICW activities on giving back and conducted coaching awareness sessions for non-governmental organizations (NGOs), corporates and educational institutions like SOS, Taplow, Shamrock, Sight Savers, Tech Mahindra, among others. We reached many Learning and Development professionals as well as the Human Resources community with our exclusive panel discussion for members of the National Human Resources Development (HRD) Network. The panel discussion brought many varied perspectives to the table with a focus on the experience of coaching and how it helped the panelists and their organizations.

The awareness sessions, in addition to shared learning, proved to be a great opportunity for participants to experience coaching via demo sessions. Webinars on accreditation and ethical coaching coupled with a coach connection brought together coaches, industry leaders and other stakeholders and inspired them to put on a different lens, to question the existing and to discuss different perspectives. ICF Delhi NCR Chapter’s first round of peer coaching participants shared their own learnings and experiences.

In-person and online events were followed up by a special issue of our chapter communication Going Beyond.

Building a Partnership of Hope

Last year’s wonderfully interactive and inclusive ICW encouraged us to continue thinking outside the box. We will be kickstarting International Coaching Week 2018 with a Coachathon, where our coaches will run a marathon.

Our driving force this year is the underlying theme of “My Coach, My Lighthouse,” which is a partnership of hope whereby we are focused on spreading awareness of coaching and exploring the creation of a coaching culture as well as the benefits of managers and leaders holding coaching conversations. To increase awareness of coaching, our flagship event this year will feature Coach Connect, which explores the partnership with a coach as well as a panel discussion, shared experiences and a coaching movie. We are also offering coaching awareness sessions to organizations including MaxLife Insurance, Samarpan, Kat Katha, Child Fund, NIIT, More Than HR (MTHR), Landesa, Very Special Arts and SHEROES.

Through webinars, experts Alan Stevens and Michael Stratford, MCC, are helping our member coaches focus on their skills by exploring the art of reading people to build rapport and the game of coaching. Our ICW special edition of Going Beyond, which has the highest number of contributions that we have ever seen, will add to the perspectives and learnings from ICW.

We can bring together multiple value-added offerings for our coaches, NGOs, corporates and other stakeholders by functioning as a cohesive unit, where everyone contributes to a warm, open and transparent community. We face challenges and rejoice in triumphs with equal gusto and seamless collaboration. I believe this has been and is our greatest achievement as a chapter, coupled with the fact that we continuously strive to charge ahead, sharing coaching and its benefits with a bigger and more varied pool of people each year.
