International Coaching Federation and Garden of Hope Launch Groundbreaking DEIB Coaching Program for Students in Kenya

Lexington, KY
— The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is thrilled to announce the launch of a transformative DEIB Coaching Program for 50 college students in Nairobi, Kenya, in partnership with Garden of Hope, an organization passionate about restoring hope to underserved youth, children, women, and girls. The program is set to commence in January 2024, marking a significant milestone in the pursuit of inclusive excellence.

“ICF is excited to collaborate with Garden of Hope Foundation in supporting the empowerment of underserved students in Kenya through coaching,” said ICF CEO Magdalena Nowicka Mook. “Coaching and development of coaching skills helps individuals achieve their goals and strengthen their communities. By partnering with Garden of Hope Foundation, we can help these students become change makers in their communities and beyond.”

The ICF DEIB Coaching Program is a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering college students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within their academic institutions and future careers. This carefully designed 8-week program will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of DEIB principles, strategies for implementation, and the confidence to be advocates for positive change.

Key highlights of the program include:

  • An in-depth DEIB education, including workshops by ICF’s Vice President of DEIB, LaKisha C. Brooks.
  • Personalized coaching from ICF credentialed coaches and mentorship to develop leadership skills.
  • Hands-on experience in creating and implementing DEIB principles.
  • Opportunities to collaborate and gain real-world experience.
  • Networking with like-minded individuals and DEIB professionals.

“Through this dynamic partnership between Garden of Hope Foundation and the International Coaching Federation, we aim to ignite the sparks of transformation and university students to reach their fullest potential through coaching.” Victor Odhiambo, Founder, Garden of Hope Foundation
