International Coach Federation Staff Supports Local Nonprofits During International Coaching Week

ICF Headquarters staff demonstrates ripple effect of coaching by volunteering with two local organizations.

Lexington, Kentucky, USA— On May 1, 2019, staff members from the International Coach Federation‘s (ICF) global headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, donated their time to two local nonprofits as part of the Association’s International Coaching Week celebration.

Launched in 1999, ICW is a week-long celebration that educates the public about the value of working with a professional coach and acknowledges the results and progress made through the coaching process. The week is also an opportunity for ICF Chapters, Members and staff to acknowledge the potential of coaching to advance societal change.

“As ICF coaches, we humbly serve others to enhance their well-being and their personal and professional growth, and we ambitiously strive to make coaching an integral part of a thriving society. I am so proud of our ICF staff for ‘walking the talk’ as they wholeheartedly and continuously attend to their neighbors in need of support,” said 2019 ICF Global Board Chair Jean-Francois Cousin, MCC.

For the second year in a row, the staff prepared bagged lunches for the Hope Center’s HopeMobile Outreach Program, a program that helps Lexington’s homeless population fulfill their basic needs such as food, clothing and other necessities. Last year, the team packed 100 meals; this year they prepared double that number.

ICF staff members also volunteered in the warehouse of God’s Pantry, a local food pantry and Feeding America member whose service area includes more than 70,000 children from households experiencing food insecurity. ICF staff bagged and boxed 768 pounds of cereal that will be distributed to households in 50 Kentucky counties.

“Collaboration and respect are two of ICF’s core values. Building and supporting community is what we do and what we care about. Our ICF team not only came together for great teamwork, they also offered their time and attention to those in need. What a perfect way to celebrate International Coaching Week,” said ICF CEO/Executive Director Magdalena Nowicka Mook.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaches across a variety of coaching disciplines. ICF is active in representing all facets of the coaching industry, including Executive, Life, Leadership, Relationship and Career Coaching. Its 36,000-plus members located in 145 countries work toward the common goal of enhancing awareness of coaching, upholding the integrity of the profession, and continually educating themselves with the newest research and practices.
