You've taken the first step! Ensure you meet the final requirements to become a member of ICF and take full advantage of our community, resources, and personalized support. 

You are eligible for membership if you meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • You hold an ICF credential (ACC, PCC, MCC).
  • You have completed at least 60 hours of coaching education that meets ICF standards.
  • You are enrolled in at least 60 hours of coaching education that meets ICF standards.

Membership is valid for 12 months and costs $270 USD annually, with an option for automatic renewal.

Don’t meet at least one of these requirements? Visit the Education Search Service (ESS) to find ICF-accredited coaching education that will qualify you for ICF membership.

Curious If Your Education Meets ICF Membership Requirements?

With so many different types of coaching education programs available, it can be confusing knowing if your education meets our membership eligibility requirements. Explore educational programs to guide your next steps in becoming an ICF member.

Acceptable Coaching Education for ICF Membership

  • Level 1 or Level 2 education programs accredited by ICF.
  • Continuing Coach Education (CCE): Includes all ICF Core Competency hours and allows up to 12 hours from other areas.
  • Non-ICF-Accredited Education: Accepts coaching education that teaches skills aligned with ICF Core Competencies, even if not officially accredited by ICF.

Unacceptable Forms of Coaching Education

  • Education aimed at teaching non-coaching skills.
  • Personal development courses.
  • Education in psychology and counseling unless specifically taught as coaching education from the ICF Core Competencies perspective.
